We are Sally Blandford and Paul Coby and we have visited Roman sites for several decades.  We wanted to publish an online guide that conveyed our love of these sites and the fun of visiting them.  There are plenty of excellent scholarly guides available to learn about the history, and plenty of pot boiler tourist guides repeating the same ‘facts’.  This blog is about our experience of the sites and the exhibitions.  We hope this gives you a good ‘feel’ for the sites and the artefacts, and also gives you food for thought and possibly to disagree with!  Above all we hope it encourages you to visit the sites as well.
